Alla Xul Elu, a horror-obsessed hip-hop trio from Ohio, delivers a masked brand of madness through their chilling tracks and grotesque lyrics, designed to shock and enthrall their devoted following. Founding members Joey Black and Billy Obey launched their terror-fueled campaign in 2015 with the release of Head of Horns and Sci-Co: Volume 1, both quickly becoming staples in the horrorcore underground scene. The 2017 follow-up, Necronomichron, invited listeners into a smoke-filled realm of B-movie psychedelia, cementing their signature style. With the addition of Lee Carver, the trio joined Detroit’s Majik Ninja Entertainment and unleashed The Almighty in 2018, earning widespread acclaim among horror rap enthusiasts. The group’s 2019 EP, Church of Xul, explored scathing religious themes with the blasphemous edge established in their earlier work. Teaming with Detroit-based producer Slasher Dave, they crafted the macabre masterpiece Mauxuleum in 2020, followed by the darkly comedic sequel Necronomichron 2: Dead By Bong. Alla Xul Elu continues their relentless reign of terror with an onslaught of album releases, visuals, and live shows, solidifying their place as leaders in the underground horrorcore movement.
